Abstract:
The FP7-SPACE Project ProViScout (scheduled from April 2010 to September 2012) aims todemonstratethe feasibility of vision-based autonomous sample identification & selection in combination withvision-based navigationfor a long range scouting/exploration mission on a terrestrial planet along with the robotic elements required. The paper gives an overview ofthe PRoViScout technical, strategic and scientific objectives along withsolutions, and documents detailingthe project status after one third of project duration.
