Chromaticity coordinate maintenance of phosphor converted LEDs by a self-compensation approach

Abstract:
We suggest the use of materials with suitable thermo-optic coefficients for fabrication of the color conversion elements of phosphor converted LEDs. This opens the potential to lower the risk for temperature induced deviations of a desired correlated color temperature value upon device operation by a self-compensation approach. A further advantage of such a self-compensation approach is that it does not require additional electronic components, like sensors and drivers, for color temperature maintenance.
